Key Lime Cheesecake?

Joe has gained quite a bit of attention and praise over the years for his famous "key lime cheesecake," which a lucky few receive as homemade gifts every Christmas.  I've seen him make a few of them over the past two Christmas seasons; and, they have always looked fantastic!  Ever since I first saw him make one over a year ago, I've frequently commented how I would really like to try one sometime; nevertheless, he never presented me with that choice opportunity.  Often I wondered whether he just wasn't getting the hints, or if he just didn't want to make one for me.  This last weekend I realized the truth.

Friday evening, Ridge and Brittany came over to the house to say hello, at which point Brittany commented that she had heard about Joe's key lime cheesecake and asked him for the recipe.  What does Joe do the very next day...sets out to bake a key lime cheesecake for Brittany.  Apparently Joe had just not wanted to make one for me in the past.  A year of requests yielded squat in my case; Brittany randomly asked for the recipe one night and he begins baking her one within 18 hours.

So Joe and Elaine invited Ridge and Brittany back over Sunday afternoon to try out the cheesecake.

Man was it good!! Absolutely Delicious!!
After enjoying a couple slices, we proceeded to inquire the Baker about the ingredients.  He grabbed the key additive from the fridge; and, upon examination we began to be quite perplexed by it.

Nellie & Joe's Famous Key West Lemon Juice?  Wait a minute Joe, what is that?!  I thought we were having key lime cheesecake, not key lemon cheesecake.  Deceived again by another conspiracy for the second straight weekend!

Now I'm left back at square one...wondering what the key lime cheesecake actually tastes like.....

  1. "Now I'm left back at square one...wondering what the key lime cheesecake actually tastes like....." You might just have to ask Brittany.

  2. Are they coming to the wedding? If so, can we request that he make one for the bride and groom (and the bride's sister)?
