Yoga...it can get weird quick

My dear blog followers, Oh how I feel for you. I abandoned you almost two years ago, and I'm sorry! Please forgive me, I'm trying to make a come-back. With that, I'd like to share with you my experience with yoga this morning.

I woke up this morning with a tight lower back. As I drove to the gym to do a spinning class, the lower back started to really hurt so I turned around thinking maybe I would try doing a yoga routine at home. I've never done yoga but I recently watched Diamond Dallas Page pitch his yoga routine with its health benefits for bad backs on Shark Tank. Although a little skeptical of a WWE wrestler teaching me yoga, I thought I'd give it a shot. So I started searching for yoga videos on our Amazon Prime account to see which routines I could watch for free. I didn't find Diamond Dallas Page but I found a slew of choices. At the top of the list was a video by Jillian Michaels, who I had seen on The Biggest Loser; so, I thought "okay, there's some popular, respectable people on here." But let me tell ya, this stuff gets weird quick. I clicked on a few of the videos after Jillian, but there was just too much of candles and strange music stuff going on that gave me a weird vibe. I couldn't tell if I was suppose to be stretching or making some spiritual connection with Buddha; and, the instructors...well they just weren't my type, plus they had some accents I was struggling to understand.. So I went back to browsing the other videos, and they got all kinds of stuff going on. By the second page, "nude yoga" and "yoga while naked" options started popping up. I thought what the hell, I didn't even know such things existed in the yoga world. I thought is was just taking deep breaths and stretching.

Scared of Jillian Michaels' intensity and weirded out by the rest of the choices, I settled on a fully-clothed routine by Jane Fonda. It was nice. My favorite part was at the end of each routine when Jane would look at me and say, "Good Job, You should be proud of yourself." To which I would reply, "Thank You Jane, I am proud of myself."

  1. You should ask your daddy about his views on Jane Fonda.
