Chevy Chase Christmas Vacation

We're going back in time for a story too good to leave untold.  This story will be coming to you in several installments but I think you might enjoy it.  We now go back to Christmas vacation Dec 2010 - Jan 2011.

Stacy and I concluded back in July and August that we were only young and single once and that we needed to blow some cash and travel the world.  We set our sights on the adventurous Machu Picchu down in Peru.  We successfully made all our reservations and were like giddy school children ready to go by the time Christmas vacation came.  We spent the week leading up to Christmas with the Eubanks clan down in Arkansas and Oklahoma.  The day after Christmas was our day to leave on the grand journey to Peru where we would hike ancients ruins and celebrate the new year.  As we were ready to embark on the journey the poop really started hitting the fan.  Winter storms hit the east coast.  After a day of frantic travel trying to somehow make it back to DC where our flight left from, we were able to get to the airport just in time to see our plane pull out of the gate and take off.  Unable to get a new flight, we sat in silent depression at the Bakers playing the same card game over and over again.  We finally settled on making new vacation and new years plans for New York.  Stacy made the drive back to the city and I left the next day in my fine tuned piece of german engineering.

As I began to enter the city and make my transit to Long Island to Stacy's fiancee's house, the BMW began to overheat as I found myself in the worst bumper to bumper traffic of my life and I was smack dab in the middle of it all.  My efforts to freakishly try and somehow make it out of the traffic ended tragically on this cold winter day.  Lets take a look at this video I made for Joe and Elaine....

  1. I love reminiscing about this trip. Not because it's funny or anything (never!), but because I didn't have to experience it and yet it's too crazy not to be remembered once in awhile.
